Installation Manual for EV Charger Foundation

Modified on Thu, 9 Oct at 1:59 PM

This foundation is a prefabricated unit designed for secure installation of an EV charging stand or standalone charger. The foundation is installed underground and comes with threaded rods for mounting the product above.

Required tools and materials

  • Shovel or excavator (depending on soil conditions)

  • Spirit level

  • Gravel or sand (for backfilling)

  • Wrench (for tightening nuts on threaded rods)

Installation steps

  1. Determine placement

    • Select the installation location according to the site plan.

    • Decide the final height of the charging post:

      • Either flush with ground level, or

      • Slightly elevated above ground (recommended in areas with heavy rain or snow).

  2. Excavate the hole

    • Dig a hole large enough to fit the foundation unit.

    • The depth depends on the desired final height of the charging post.

  3. Prepare the base

    • Level the bottom of the hole.

    • Ensure the surface is stable and compact.

  4. Place the foundation

    • Position the foundation in the hole with the threaded rods facing upwards.

    • Use a spirit level to make sure the foundation is straight and aligned.

  5. Backfill

    • Fill the hole evenly around the foundation with gravel or sand.

    • Compact the fill material layer by layer to ensure stability.

  6. Final alignment

    • Check once more that the threaded rods are vertical and correctly aligned for the charging post.

  7. Mount the charging post

    • Place the charging post onto the threaded rods.

    • Secure with nuts and tighten with a wrench.

Notes

  • The customer can decide whether the charging post is installed at ground level or slightly above.

  • In wet or unstable soils, it is recommended to use gravel as the main backfill material to ensure proper drainage.

  • All installation work must comply with local building and safety regulations.
