One can choose to equip your Smart Charger with 4G functionality, even if the unit order does not support it out of the box. To achieve this, a 4G module needs to be installed to the mainboard of the charger.
4G module installation must be carried out by qualified personnel and with voltage disconnected by a MCB responsible for the circuit charger is connected to.
Leave the charger for at least 5 minutes to de-energize.
Removing the front cover
1. Open the charger by pressing the two barbs under the charger and take out the decorative cover.
2. Loosen the six screws of the cover and take out the cover.
Removing the LCD/RFID assembly
1. After opening the front cover, remove the 4 screws holding the assembly. Note the original location of the screws.
2. Push the two fixating latches outwards from the connector to release the data cable.
Installing the 4G module
The module consists of the Modem (1), Nano SIM slot (2), U.FL antenna connector (3) on the front, and 3 groups of pins (4) on the back:
Once LCD/RFID assembly is removed, 3 groups of pins (5) can be seen on the mainboard, corresponding to the ones on the 4G module:
1. Insert the Nano SIM in the slot with the contacts and the notch pointing down, and push in untill a soft click is felt and the card stays in place.
2. Allign the pin groups (4, 5) and press on the module on the mainboard.
3. Connect the antenna to the U.FL connector and place it inside the enclosure of the charger.
4. Reinstall the LCD/RFID assembly.
5. Reinstall the front covers of the charger.
Finishing up
Once module installation is done, power the charger on and proceed to configure it.
