Installation Safety Disclaimer

  • Do not install equipment in areas with strong vibrations or electromagnetic interference.
  • Never perform live operations during installation. Installing or removing live cables can cause arcs or sparks, leading to fire or personal injury.
  • Always disconnect the equipment and upstream/downstream switches before handling power cables.
  • Prevent foreign objects from entering the equipment, as they may cause short circuits, damage, or injury.
  • Use insulated tools that comply with local laws and standards to avoid electric shock or short circuits.
  • Ensure all cables meet local regulations and are properly insulated.
  • Inspect the equipment for any damage before making electrical connections to avoid electric shock or fire.
  • If the power cable is too short, replace it. Do not splice or solder connections.
  • Only power on the equipment after a professional verifies that installation is complete.

Important Safety Notice:

The installation of the DLM Controller must be performed by qualified and authorized electrical personnel. Ensure the upstream switch is disconnected, and all power sources are off before installation.

Installation Preparation

Tools Required

  • Philips screwdriver
  • Socket wrench
  • Pliers
  • Crimping tool
  • Network cable tool

Location Requirements

  • Ensure there are drainage measures within the wiring area to avoid water accumulation.
  • For wall-mounted installation, the heights of the installation holes should be greater that 1000 mm from the ground.
  • Make sure to leave enough space around the DLM controller:

Power Supply Requirements

  • AC power input: 3*2.5 mm2 (Copper cable)
  • Meter to DLM:  2*1.5mm2 (Communication cable)
  • Charger to DLM: Ethernet cable

Upstream Requirements

  • DLM controller should be protected with an RCD of at least Type A with current rating of 16 A.

Installation Steps

Wall-Mounted Installation

  • Drill holes and secure the mounting plate on the wall.
  • Hang the DLM controller on the mounting plate.

  • Secure the controller with screws and ensure it is firmly in place.

Pole-Mounted Installation (Optional)

  • Use concrete base or direct pole mount.
  • Secure the pole using bolts, and attach the DLM controller.

Network Connection

  • Use the proper gland to pull in the network cables inside:

For DLM controller:

For Data Exchanger:

  • Make sure the mainboard is connected to the #1 port of the switch in the DLM controller.
  • Connect the RJ45 ports from the DLM to the chargers and data exchangers.

Meter Connection

  • Connect the A/B wires from the meter to the DLM Controller:

Electrical Connection

  • Wire the L, N, and PE cables for AC power input:

For DLM Controller:

For Data Exchanger:

Function

  • Dynamic Load Management

The DLM controller constantly measures the real-time grid connection load and allocates remaining power to the DC Charger group.

  • Dynamic Load Balancing

If remainder power is not sufficient to supply all charging EVs with full power, the power is distributed between active connectors to ensure good charging experience.

  • Scalability

The DLM controller can be configured for up to 13 Charger connection with maximum Charger count extended further by connecting additional Data Exchangers.
