Installing the AC Charging Cable

Modified on Fri, 22 Nov at 3:41 PM

Follow these steps to install the AC charging cable for Morek chargers.

Cable Information
Morek chargers use the Phoenix Contact CHARX connect eco AC charging cable. This is a Type 2 cable that meets IEC 62196-2 standards and supports AC charging. It includes:

  • A 6.5-meter, straight black cable with a vehicle connector.
  • An open, crimped end for charger connection.
  • A protective cap for added durability.

Connecting Power and Communication Cables

Ensure all cables are correctly connected:

  • Power line: Connect the phases according to charger configuration L1, L2, L3, N, and PE.
  • Communication cable - Control Pilot (CP): This white cable (0.5 mm²) enables communication with the vehicle. If it isn’t connected properly, the charger won’t recognize the vehicle, and charging won’t start.

The signal contact PP is not connected to the cable, but rather to a resistor connected with the PE. It provides the vehicle with the information that an AC charge is taking place with a particular charging current.

Using Phoenix Contact Push-In Terminals

  • When making connections, always use insulated terminal ends that match the terminal size for a secure fit.

Cable Colors and Terminal Markings

  • Connect each cable according to the terminal markings and color codes.
  • Refer to the image below for guidance on proper connections.

L1 - BN (brown)

L2 - BK (black)

L3 - GY (gray)

N - BU (blue)

PE - GN/YE (green/yellow)

CP - WH (white)
