Light fogging behind the Smart Charging LCD window

A bit of fog on the inside of the display window now and then is normal. It comes from the weather, not from a fault.

The cause

There's a small air gap between the LCD and the front plate, and that gap is part of the charger's internal volume. Outdoor enclosures breathe: the air inside expands when it warms and contracts when it cools. If the temperature drops quickly — an evening cooldown, cold rain hitting a warm casing, a humid morning — the front plate ends up the coldest surface in that gap and airborne moisture settles on it as a thin film. It's a surface effect on the window, not water getting into the enclosure. Coastal and humid sites see it more.

Once the charger warms up again, the moisture evaporates and leaves with the next warm cycle. Usually that's one charging session, or a few hours of daylight.
