Firmware Update via Micro SD Card

Modified on Mon, 2 Dec at 9:53 AM

The fastest and safest way to update Morek EV AC chargers' firmware is to perform the update using a Micro SD card with a speed of Class 10. Most newer cards come with speed Class 10.

❗️Format the SD card to MS-DOS (FAT) on Mac and FAT32 on Windowsthis is important!

On Mac:

On Windows:

  1. Right-click on the SD card in File Explorer
  2. Click on Format
  3. Choose FAT32, Default allocation size, name of the volume and press Start

After formatting, please extract the contents of the update package to the SD card.

The root directory of the card should look like this:

You can find the latest update package attached at the bottom of the page.

Before the update, please power down the charger and remove the front cover of the charger to access the internals.

Insert the Micro SD card into the charger's SD card slot, located below the LAN (Ethernet) port and above the input power connection terminal on the green printed circuit board.

The card should be inserted with the connection pins facing down. Once inserted, the card should make a clicking sound and stay in the slot. If the card doesn't stay in the slot, please try inserting it the other way.

After correctly inserting the MicroSD card into its slot, power the charger back on.

The screen/LED indicator will blink during the update process and will stop after it's finished. When the update is done, the charger will restart and make a “beep” sound.

When the charger has restarted, please power it down again and remove the SD card from its slot. If you leave the card in the charger, it will perform the update after every restart.
